Jared Gentile - Story Sculptor

I’m a Los Angeles-based writer, educator and filmmaker specializing in admissions essays, creative development and high-stakes personal storytelling.

I graduated from Harvard-Westlake as Salutatorian, receiving the Sandifer Creative Writing Award, before studying Film & Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a focus on screenwriting and short fiction. After graduating with honors, I gained valuable insight into the television writing process in the production office and writers’ room of This Is Us. I later spent three years as the personal Writer’s Assistant to Danny Jacobson (Mad About You, Roseanne), where I developed, story edited, and co-wrote a feature film, theatrical play, memoir, and multiple pilots. My own work has been recognized by The Academy’s Nicholl’s Fellowship and The Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.

Since 2022, I’ve built a parallel career in education. After earning my substitute teaching license and working across the greater Los Angeles area, I transitioned into college admissions. At the Compass Education Group, I delivered high-level SAT and ACT verbal instruction with an emphasis on recognizing patterns and understanding strategy to achieve top percentile results. With Rainbow EDU Consulting, I led students and families through the college and high school application process, crafting compelling personal narratives to distinguish their applications in competitive admissions pools.

StorySculpt brings together my expertise across disciplines with the goal of helping clients find and structure their unique narratives on the page, so that they can confidently begin their next chapter.
